What role do dreams play in your life?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 05, 2007:
Very little.
I sleep. I dream.
Many times I remember my dreams, sometimes, I don't.
Even my so-called lucid dreams are just reflections of MY subconscious and MY unconscious. The humyn brain is too complex for MY little tip of the iceberg consciousness to comprehend intact, so when I sleep the other chemical functions of my brain take over and help me through the night. I don't believe anything metaphysical is happening.
I don't think neuroscientists are any closer than New-agers in figuring out how and why we dream just because they currently have enough science to map the dreaming parts of the brain. The Yogi Knockyayonder and Joseph Campbell might both be right and WE ALL might be dreaming together in OUR collective unconscious, or everything could very well be disconnected the way it seems to most people.
I don't need to answer these questions which are currently still questions of belief -- on both sides -- and not questions of fact. I only need to be certain that MY waking time is spent in as gently and compassionately and lovingly as possible.
